Historic downtown continues to be revitalized: Public works in action

Subway cabling advance

The revitalization of the Historic Center does not stop, the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation is moving forward with subway cabling works to eliminate visual pollution and preserve architecture and cultural heritage.

The MOPT is moving forward with the subway cabling works on 4th calle poniente; the works are at the intersection of 3rd avenida Sur and are expected to advance to 5th avenida Sur.

Work is also progressing on 6th calle poniente and the intersection of 7th avenida Sur.

These streets correspond to the recovered areas, this has allowed the work to advance, extending the revitalization works of the Historic Center of San Salvador.

Subsequently, work will continue in the areas surrounding the Central Headquarters of the National Civil Police.

Rubén Darío Urban Corridor

The Municipal Works Department is advancing in the work of street paving and subway wiring on 2nd West Street. Currently, the works are at the intersection of 17th Avenue South and 19th Avenue South, the work will reach the intersection with 25th Avenue.

As part of the urban renewal of Rubén Darío Street, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, paving of several streets, lighting and a section of curb and gutter have been completed.

These actions are aligned with urban regeneration plans, contributing to the transformation of the Historic Center into an attractive tourist, cultural and commercial destination.
