BINAES: Lighthouse of Knowledge and Culture of the 21st Century

The National Library of El Salvador (BINAES) was inaugurated in November 2023, marking a milestone in the transformation of the Historic Center of San Salvador. Conceived as a state-of-the-art cultural and educational center, it was designed with the objective of democratizing access to knowledge, offering inclusive spaces and modernizing the concept of the library in the country. Its innovative structure, technological resources and interactive approach make it one of the most modern libraries in Latin America.

Events

Since its opening, the BINAES has been the scene of massive cultural events, such as book fairs, interactive exhibitions, educational technology forums and open recitals. One of its most outstanding events was its participation in the National Reading Week 2024, where it received thousands of visitors and held simultaneous activities for 24 hours, showing its capacity as a dynamic and active center, open to the entire population.
